Description

The fields of application are described in chapter Safety, (see “Typical fields of application”) An external control must be used to monitor and control the converter module

  • The converter module draws energy from a three-phase grid and feeds it into a DC link.
  • The converter module draws energy from a DC link and feeds it into a three-phase or split-phase AC distribution system.

  1. three-phase or split-phase AC distribution system
  2. Smarten Power 150
  3. DC-link (battery, super capactitor, etc.)

The converter module can be operated:

  • with a web browser on a PC
  • via Modbus
Permissible configurations
  • The Smarten Power 150 must always be operated together with a Smarten Hub System Control.
  • 16 Smarten Power 150 units can be operated simultaneously on the same AC mains.
Impermissible configurations
  • The connection of other DC voltage converters is only permissible in consultation with Smarten Electric.
  • The parallel connection of Smarten Power 150 with other bidirectional inverters on the same DC link is permissible only in consultation with Smarten Electric.

Altitude derating

The converter is designed for applications below 4km altitude:

  • if the altitude is lower than 2km, no derating is applied.
  • if the altitude is higher than 2km, every 100m above 2km, the power shall be derated by 1%

There is no altitude sensor in the converter, so the derating is manual and the integrator should design the controlling of power considering altitude.

Ambient temperature derating

The converter is designed for applications below 60°C:

  • if the ambient temperature is below 45°C, no derating is applied.
  • if the ambient temperature is between 45°C~60°C, derate as:
    • 45°C~60°C, derate to 95%
    • 50°C~55°C, derate to 89%
    • 55°C~60°C, derate to 82%
    • >60°C, not recommended, it may trigger protection any time
